While negotiations for a trade deal between the European Union and the United States progress, the so-called Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) still hasn’t convinced everyone. At this timely forum hosted by Open Europe and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, EU Commissioner Cecilia Malmström will give a keynote speech in order to highlight the opportunities for Europe in terms of economic growth and jobs. She will also address concerns related to the perceived secrecy of negotiations and the arrangements for Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) through private arbitration courts, intended to support investor confidence. Her speech will be followed by remarks from prominent commentators and policy actors representing both sides of the Atlantic, and a Q&A session.

Lunch will be provided.

Places are limited. If you would like to attend the debate, please RSVP to Pieter Cleppe on pieter@openeurope.org.uk or 0032 477 68 46 08

This invitation is also being sent out by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation

We can't allow social justice to be sacrificed because it doesn't financially benefit multinational corporations. It's time we started to prioritize people and not profit.
