Pan-European protests on TTIP, CETA and TiSA take place today.

Hundreds of thousands expected to attend events in cities across Europe today

Greens will join over 400 protests taking place today across EU member states, as EU citizens take to the streets to protest against TTIP, CETA and TiSA. Mass demonstrations are expected in countries where opposition to TTIP has grown steadily in recent months, such as Germany, France and the UK. Events will take place in 24 of 28 member states say campaigners.

Greens in Europe have actively been working to highlight concerns about the impacts of these trade deals, such as the impact on our regulations and standards in the areas of food, health and the environment. The secrecy surrounding the TTIP talks, as well as corporate influence and privileged access given to big business has raised concerns that the deal will not be for the benefit of ordinary citizens.

A brief overview of Greens concerns can be found here, and a downloadable leaflet on the issues can be found here.

A comprehensive list of events and times can be found on the protest day website.

We will report on events as they come in over the next 24 hours.
